Studio Policy
Piano School Year Dates for 2011 - 2012
The piano school year begins Monday September 12, 2011 and ends Monday, June 11, 2012. See the calendar for dates of studio holidays and recitals.
Tuition for the School Year
The tuition for the school year is based on a yearly fee. This fee is then divided into ten equal parts and rounded to the nearest dollar. Payments are due the first week of each month from September through June.

Tuition for Summer Term
The number of lessons a student enrolls in determines the Tuition for the summer term. Download this signup sheet for details.
Other Fees
Library Fee: $15.00 Due each September, this fee is for the use of books, ensemble music, theory games, rhythm instruments and other fun things in the studio library.
Book Deposit: $40.00 The book deposit is due upon enrollment in the studio. A record is kept of each student’s book expenses.
When the deposit reaches a balance of $2.00 or less, a copy of the expense record will be sent to the student and another $40.00 will be billed to the account.
Recital Fee: $10.00 per recital per family, due in December and May. All students (with the exception of adult students) are
expected to participate in the twice yearly recitals.
Missed Lesson Policy and the Swap List Schedule
Lesson times are reserved specifically for each student. There are no extra times available for make-ups of missed lessons and the tuition remains the same even if a student misses one or more lessons per month.
It is often possible to make up a lesson. Here’s how to do it:
- If you know ahead of time that you won’t be able to make it to your regular time, call or email right away to get it on the schedule so someone else can possibly use that time.
- Check the schedule to see if there is someone who is willing to trade times with you.
- Check the swap list schedule for any existing openings due to previous cancellations.
The schedule changes so often that it is not feasible to give a copy of the swap list to each student. The most up to date version of the schedule will be posted on the bulletin board just inside the downstairs studio entrance. You can also check the web site calendar.
